FOCUSTEL Initiates EPFD Measurement Campaign in Collaboration with SpaceX and Jordan TRA

FOCUSTEL has commenced an Equivalent Power Flux Density (EPFD) measurement campaign in collaboration with SpaceX and the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) – Jordan.

The testing program is designed to evaluate and verify the potential impact of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) broadcasted signals on existing Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) network environments.

The initiative, which began in November 2025, is scheduled to run for approximately four months, during which:

  • EPFD measurements will be conducted under controlled technical conditions

  • Interference and coexistence scenarios will be analyzed

  • Performance implications for incumbent GEO systems will be assessed

This activity is particularly relevant in the context of ongoing international regulatory discussions, including the revision considerations of Article 20 within the Radio Regulations framework. The measurement results are expected to contribute valuable technical evidence supporting studies related to satellite system coexistence and spectrum management policies.

FOCUSTEL remains committed to supporting regulators, operators, and industry stakeholders through accurate measurement methodologies, advanced testing capabilities, and technically grounded analysis.
